In this session, Croía explores using different communication modes, like text-based communication and the benefits it brings to coaching. Like a sense of safety, the potential for more openness, an option to provide a preferred communication mode for introverts and increased awareness for clients due to less cognitive overload.
Croía will also address the rapid technological advancements in coaching and the barriers coaches may face when incorporating technology, such as maintaining a personal connection and building rapport. Additionally, she will explore the importance of developing the skillset to navigate the hybrid coaching model effectively and emphasizes the ethical considerations involved.

Visuals in Coaching: A Tech Tour

Visuals have been shown to help people focus, engage, and take action. So why don’t more coaches utilize visuals in their coaching practice?
This session will expose coaches to “low tech” and “high tech” methods of integrating visuals into their coaching practice.
“Low tech” refers to technologies often utilized in person by coaches, such as picture cards, that are transported into virtual mediums. “High tech” refers to more complex technologies, such as chatbots, that may be utilized in coaching without a human coach.
This thought-provoking session will also share results from a recent research study run by the presenters comparing text-only chatbots with chatbots that infuse visuals into coaching conversations. Finally, this session will include a live demonstration and concludes with an open discussion to explore practical matters important to audience members.

In this session, we will explore the possibilities of immersive technologies for coaching, including a basic understanding of what’s possible, an exploration of how we can enhance our coaching using them, and a discovery of how we will all need to adapt as people’s primary forms of communication increasingly rely on immersive technologies.
Sam will also introduce an approach to the benefits, risks and ethical dilemmas raised through immersive technologies.
